Synopsis:

Described by Edward Albee as "...the greatest American play ever written," the story follows the small town of Grover's Corners through three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage," and "Death and Eternity." Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually—in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre — die. This play was a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Audition Details

WBCT is excited to announce open call auditions for Our Town by Thornton Wilder. The show will be directed by Léland Karas with Karen Lowe assisting. Show dates are May 27-29 and June 3-5.
Auditions will be at the Cultural Arts Center in Winder on Monday March 14th at 7 p.m., and Tuesday March 15th at 7 p.m., with callbacks on Wednesday March 16th at 7 p.m. Please arrive several minutes early to fill out audition sheet that will be provided.
The director asks that you please bring a current head shot if available and a list of already scheduled engagements that may conflict with the rehearsal schedule. Rehearsals typically are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:45 p.m. till 9 p.m.
Auditions will be consisting of mainly cold readings so no prepared material is required.
Total number of characters needed: 18 males, 7 females, with several extras (some of which are non speaking roles).
Character age ranges from 11 yrs to 90 yrs young.
